Spiritual Parenting

Spiritual Parenting is raising your child with a sense of the divine in all things. Nurturing your child's sense of self and personal creativity. Spiritual parenting also means teaching your child a sense of responsibility for their thoughts, words and actions. A spiritual child recognizes and honors the sanctity of ALL life.

Who am I?

Who am I to dispense parenting advice? I am not a doctor, but I am a parent. I have raised my daughter pretty much on my own since she was born.

I am from a large, loving family and had the great fortune of having spectacular parents. I could ask for nothing more than my own wonderful father and mother. No, they are not perfect people. They are just the perfect parents for me. They taught me the lessons and gave me exactly what I needed. I didn't realize that at the time, but I am grateful for ever bit of who they are now.

Thanks Mom & Dad!

Working with Parent Coach Geralyn St Joseph

When is a good time to call a parent coach?

When you are feeling out of control or disconnected from your family. Or, better yet, call me when you are about to become a parent and want to give your children the best opportunity to be happy and successful. If you have a child who is sensitive, who may feel alone, or is having issues in school. You also need to make the commitment to the process and be willing to work with whomever you choose.

What should a parent look for in a Parent Coach, counselor or therapist?

You need to interview your potential helper. You need to trust this person enough to reveal to them your most uncomfortable parts, and to follow their direction. Try to get references if possible, but remember, what worked for your neighbor may not be what is right for you.

What is unique about you?

I require a family to work with me through 3 sessions. The first session is just discovery more often than not, but I believe there should be some progress in the first three sessions.  Most families find resolution fairly quickly when working with me. I work with the family as a whole, and with the individuals that comprise it.

Is it best if we meet in person?

My methods are just as effective over the phone or SKYPE, as they are in person. What makes this a successful process is your commitment, not proximity.

Please Enjoy In-Joy.

Take the lessons that resonate with you and leave that which feels wrong. Remember, every child is different and unique. Your experiences with each child will be as unique as they are. Not every method or suggestion given here will work for everyone. You need to be aware of your own child and your own strengths and limitations. Be Well! Be loving. Be Loved!
